Roger S. Faubel is CEO and founder of Faubel Public Affairs.

In the past five years, Roger has successfully guided more than $1 billion in projects through the County of Orange permitting and approval process.

Faubel Public Affairs currently represents numerous Fortune 500 companies as well as several entrepreneurial ventures, local governments, and special districts. The firm has won multiple Public Relations Society of America Protos awards for excellence in editorials, direct mail and governmental affairs programs. 

One of Orange County’s top public affairs professionals, Roger specializes in solving public policy challenges before the County of Orange, cities, water agencies, special districts, school districts and LAFCO. He draws upon more than four decades of public affairs experience to build diverse coalitions and mobilize local community support.

Faubel Public Affairs remains at the center of Orange County’s biggest public policy decisions. Most notably, Roger was lauded for his 8-year battle to defeat the proposed airport at the former El Toro Marine Base, a seminal moment in the history of South Orange County. The firm played a pivotal role in the preservation of Barham Ranch, an environmental jewel of Orange County.

Roger’s unparalleled record of success crosses sectors and ideological barriers. He spearheaded the passage of Orange County’s Health Care Initiative, has served as an expert witness before the California Public Utilities Commission, and was instrumental in the founding of two cities, Rancho Santa Margarita and Aliso Viejo. He helped the City of Lake Forest with annexation of Foothill Ranch and Portola Hills and secured the future of Laguna Hills through the annexation of a portion of unincorporated county land.

Prior to establishing Faubel Public Affairs in 1997, Roger served as Director of Field Operations and Public Affairs for the Southern California Edison Company, the nation’s second-largest investor-owned electric utility. In his 24 years with Edison, he directed a staff of more than 100 management employees and was responsible for activities in 176 cities and 14 counties.

A longtime community volunteer and committed public servant, Roger has served as a board member of Arts Orange County, and is currently serving as an Orange County Public Affairs Association board member. Previously, Roger served on the Mission Viejo City Council and the Board of the Directors of Basin Water, a NASDAQ corporation. For 12 years, he served as an elected member of the Santa Margarita Water District Board of Directors. He is active in many philanthropic causes.

A graduate of California State University at Fullerton, Roger earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. He lives in Mission Viejo with his wife, Lisa.
